Volunteering is a work extended to many areas such as food, sport, education… aimed at people of different age groups and from different parts of the world. This work is particularly widespread among young people and adults.

Today, we will especially talk to you about voluntary work related to the different board sports: surfing, skateboarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding, etc. Because sport brings many benefits and, among them, it has been shown to be an escape route and a great help especially for people at risk of social exclusion. In fact, there are many athletes who despite living with few resources at first, have become professionals with a prosperous life thanks to sport. Examples of this have been Usain Bolt, Alexis Sanchez, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Rafaela Silva… each with different beginnings, very difficult, yes, but in which sport has been the key to prosperity.

Sport gives us a series of values that we apply in our lives without realizing it and the volunteer does nothing but promote those values. Today we will show you three associations or projects that have been carried out by volunteers and motivated by such a generous and humble personality that only seeks to improve the lives of others:

It is a Cantabrian association whose main objective is to bring surfing closer to people at risk of social exclusion, but if this were not enough also extend their volunteering to other activities of various kinds: yoga, cooking, crafts, etc.. and do not stop there as they also work on the maintenance of clean beaches on the Cantabrian coast and even in the adoption of animals.

Association located in Huanchaco, Peru, which began with an education and teaching project (HELP) and decided to go further. Since it began in 2004 they have been developing new and different projects, including the skateboarding ramp. With this project the volunteers teach to skate different children from 2 to 17 years old. An unforgettable experience for both parties.

A project carried out by two Asturians, Miguel Ferrer and Miguel Solís, who wanted to take the skateboard to Karat (Konso, Ethiopia), declared Cultural Heritage of UNESCO. A real challenge in which different entities collaborated, such as the Konso Development Association, APPODOO, among others. Without the collaboration and the essential initiative of the two Asturians, this project would not have been possible.

And this is just a small sample of the many projects that thousands of people and organizations carry out that deserve recognition and dissemination. If you are carrying out a new solidarity project or you are collaborating in one and you want to give it greater diffusion, do not hesitate to contact through our website or social networks and we will support you in giving it greater visibility, especially if it is related to any board sport.

Finally, we want to remind you that in our case, we offer you our wooden accessories, totally respectful with the environment, in three different formats: bracelet, necklace or key ring; and in different types of woods: Amazonian amaranth, African ebony, Pacific mahogany and other exotic woods; miniature boards of different board sports: surf, skate, wakeboard, bodyboard, snowboard… Visit our shop and choose the one you like the most!
